This 18th century thatched cottage sits within a small community of beautiful historic thatched buildings beside Chewton Common, Highcliffe.
Horseshoe Lodge is a 3-bedroom detached home, over two floors, with its own private enclosed garden.
The beautiful interior has been thoughtfully renovated to give all the conveniences of modern day living while keeping its original character and charm.
It can easily sleep 5 adults with 2 doubles, one of which can be arranged as a twin bedroom on the first floor, plus a double with king on the ground floor along with a single bedroom and shared family bathroom. Each bedroom has a small TV with DVD player.
The well-appointed kitchen has a washer-dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, oven, and hob. Plus, a stovetop coffee pot and a grinder for your fresh cup of coffee (if you’d like an alternative to the great cafes close by).
The spacious yet cosy lounge/dining room has comfortable sofas, widescreen TV, DVD player, Naim wireless speaker for awesome sound, and a stack of family games, books and DVDs.
Guests can access the garage, where they can find a freezer and plenty of storage space for any bikes, surf boards or kayaks you might want to bring.
The cottage is located in Highcliffe on Sea, which is famous for its scenic stretch of coastline and very close to the New Forest National Park. A gorgeous sandy beach is within walking distance where breathtaking views from the cliff top take in a sweep of scenery, including the Isle of Wight and the ‘Needles’, Mudeford and Hengistbury Head. Magnificent coastal and forest walks make this an ideal area for those who enjoy the great outdoors, whether it is by foot, bicycle or horseback.
There’s a reserved parking space outside for guests, with more space in the streets surrounding the property.
The cottage has its own garden area with outdoor seating, and established trees and plants - making it a great outdoor sanctuary.
Central heating throughout.
As this is a thatched property, we are unable to allow use of the fireplace for safety and insurance reasons.
The property is strictly no smoking.
Activities: If you’ve exhausted the beach and exploring the New Forest, there’s plenty of other activities on offer. A round of golf can be booked at either Highcliffe Castle, Brockenhurst or Barton on Sea Golf Clubs. Spoil yourself and book a meal at one of the fantastic restaurants in the area or enjoy a pamper day at the award winning Chewton Glen Country Club & Day Spa. For the kids, there’s the dry ski slope, sailing activities at Mudeford Quay, and of course, lots of sea, surf and sand. There’s even a dry ski slope, a short drive away.
